Goodluck Defence Fundraise Update

Goodluck Defence Fundraise Update

Goodluck Defence & Aerospace has raised ₹276 crore through a preferential issue at ₹375 per share, with the funds to be used towards its planned expansion of artillery shell manufacturing capacity. The company currently has an annual capacity of around 1.5 lakh artillery shells and plans to increase this to 4 lakh shells annually, with achievable capacity expected to be around 3.5 lakh shells per year.

The planned expansion requires around ₹500 crore of capital expenditure. Goodluck Defence had earlier secured a ₹275 crore loan from HDFC, and has now raised another ₹276 crore through the preferential issue. With the latest fundraise, a significant portion of the funding required for the expansion has been arranged, shifting the focus towards execution, regulatory approvals and commissioning of the expanded facility.

The company has also secured two major defence orders during the quarter. Goodluck Defence received a ₹255 crore order for approximately 50,000 155 mm ERFB artillery shells, which is to be executed over a period of 10 months. It also received another ₹52 crore order for 20,000 155 mm artillery shells, with an execution period of three months. The orders come as the company looks to scale its artillery shell manufacturing operations and expand its presence in the defence manufacturing segment.

During Q1 FY27, Goodluck Defence & Aerospace generated around ₹80 crore in revenue, while its EBITDA margin stood at approximately 38 percent. Management has raised its FY27 Defence revenue guidance to ₹300–350 crore and expects to maintain a sustainable EBITDA margin of 30–35 percent.

For investors tracking the Goodluck Defence and Aerospace  unlisted shares, the preferential issue was priced at ₹375 per share, compared with the reported unlisted market price of ₹420 per share. This represents a discount of approximately 10.7 percent to the reported unlisted price.
