GOODLUCK DEFENCE AND AEROPSACE Q2FY27 RESULTS

Goodluck Defence and  Aerospace, a subsidiary of Goodluck India, is currently trading at ₹420 in the unlisted market. The company has posted its Q2 FY27 results, and surprisingly, it did not generate any revenue from its defence business during the quarter. However, management discussed some interesting developments during the earnings call that Goodluck Defence & Aerospace unlisted investors should know about.

Why Did Goodluck Defence and Aerospace Generate Zero Revenue This Quarter?

Goodluck Defence and Aerospace is involved in shell manufacturing. And you see, shell manufacturing is not like a consumption business where revenue is generated every quarter. After receiving an order, the company has to go through product validations, inspections and multiple government approvals. Sometimes, this process takes 3–6 months or even longer. This is the main reason management gave for the delay in revenue recognition. So, the important thing is not just getting orders, but how quickly the company can execute them. Despite the delay, management remains confident about achieving its ₹300 crore revenue target for FY27.

What Is Goodluck Defence and Aerospace’s Revenue Target for FY27?

Despite generating zero revenue in Q2, management remains confident about achieving its FY27 defence revenue target of ₹300 crore, with an expected EBITDA margin of 30–35%. The company has a disclosed defence order book of around ₹350 crore, which management expects to execute by the end of this financial year. The focus now is on converting these orders into revenue.

Goodluck Defence and Aerospace’s Capacity Expansion to 4 Lakh Shells: What Is the Timeline?

The company is increasing its annual manufacturing capacity from 1.5 lakh shells to 4 lakh shells. Management expects production from the expanded capacity to begin around H1 FY28. At full capacity, the company sees the potential to generate more than ₹1,000 crore in revenue, with FY29 discussed as the target period. However, this is not a revenue guidance. It is management’s estimate of the revenue potential at the peak utilisation of 4 lakh shells.

What About Goodluck Defence and Aerospace’s Amalgamation with Goodluck India? What Is the Expected Timeline?

Management expects the amalgamation of Goodluck Defence & Aerospace with Goodluck India to take around 15–16 months. The company has already appointed a Big Four firm to carry out the valuation, and the process will require SEBI and NCLT approvals. Management said the final share-swap ratio will be communicated after the valuation report is received and the necessary approvals are obtained.

Goodluck Defence Is Moving from 18 km to 36–38 km and Then 48 km

Management also discussed some interesting developments in shell technology and revenue realisation. Earlier, the company manufactured conventional M107 shells with a range of around 18 km. It has now developed ERFB shells with a range of approximately 36–38 km and is working on a 48 km range shell.

Why does this matter? As the company moves towards more advanced shell technology, management expects revenue realisation to improve. It also discussed developing even longer-range ammunition in the future

what should the Goodluck Defence and Aerospace Unlisted Investor should do ?

Overall, Goodluck Defence and  Aerospace is at an important stage of its growth journey. While zero revenue in Q2 FY27 is something to watch, management remains confident about its ₹300 crore FY27 revenue target. The upcoming capacity expansion to 4 lakh shells, development of higher-range ammunition and proposed amalgamation with Goodluck India could be important growth drivers. However, the real test will be how quickly the company converts its order book into revenue and delivers on its expansion plans. The next few quarters will be important for understanding how much of this potential translates into actual business performance.
