Cred lauches Circle App

Fintech platform CRED has launched Circle, a new application that connects its registered members with domain-specific experts, known as “Residents,” for paid one-on-one conversations.

The platform is currently in beta and allows users to connect with more than 100 vetted Residents across areas including careers, money, wellness and relationships. CRED said the service is expected to expand into additional categories.

CRED Circle: Experts Available From ₹25 Per Minute

Under Circle, CRED members can seek guidance from experienced professionals through text, audio or video conversations. The service is available from 6 pm to 10 pm, seven days a week, with fees starting at ₹25 per minute.

According to CRED, Residents are selected based on their relevance, credentials and experience. The platform aims to use the experience of its affluent user base to provide practical, experience-driven guidance.

For example, a founder looking for advice on leadership hiring or fundraising could connect with another founder who has already scaled a business.

CRED said Circle builds on its 1.7-crore-strong community, positioning the platform as a high-signal network where members can access experienced peers and domain specialists.

CRED Expands Beyond Fintech

The launch of Circle represents another step in CRED’s expansion beyond its core fintech and credit-focused offerings. The company is attempting to leverage its premium user community to create additional services around professional expertise and decision-making.

Miten Sampat, interim CEO of CRED, said that while information and intelligence are increasingly accessible, judgement and taste continue to be shaped by experience. Circle is designed to give members access to that experience through direct conversations.

Online Mentoring Market Growing in India

CRED is entering a market that has seen increasing adoption of online mentoring and expert-consultation platforms in India.

Platforms such as Topmate, Preplaced and Unstop already connect users with professionals, mentors and industry experts. CRED’s differentiation is its existing affluent member base and its curated approach to selecting experts.

Topmate Already Shows Demand for Paid Expertise

Topmate provides an important benchmark for CRED Circle because its business model is built around connecting professionals and experts with people willing to pay for their time. Topmate currently claims 1 million+ professionals, 300,000+ creators and 1 million+ bookings, with $10 million+ paid to creators across 150+ countries. Third-party estimates suggest around 2.4 million monthly visits, indicating demand for paid access to professional expertise.
